An Eternal Multiverse or Universe.
I was enjoying watching Alan Guth talking with Sir Roger Penrose about their respective theories of our universe. The question is this:
A. An eternal multiverse with pocket universes or
B. An eternal universe with cycles—aeons. I like A.
That the universe is eternal was defended by Aristotle in his Physics.
The face of Guth when listening to Penrose’s defense of previous aeons as shown in the rings seen in the sky as the result of gravitational waves from black holes’ collisions back then (min. 1:09:07 and 1:09:09). Guth’s facial gesture is like: ‘Come on, pal. Be reasonable. That’s not evidence of a previous cycle, but random fluctuations predicted by the Inflation Theory (min. 1:16:17).’ The good thing comes at min. 1:19:57 when Guth speaks out.
